Udit’s World

I got pulled over today while coming back from work and I got a grand total of 3 tickets. (none for speeding…so no points)…Ironic part is that my court date is set for June 20th - My birthday..

I feel like complete dimwit.

Just incase you were wondering…the tickets were for sheer laziness on my part..so probably serves me right
Ticket #1 : Failure to update license address
Ticket #2 : Failure to have a front license plate
Ticket#3 : Failure to have an updated inspection

I do have a feeling that the officer was out to get me…but as they say..no one is above the law..not even paris

-I got new glasses My old ones broke in rather un-fortunate circumstances…(of which the less details known..the better)…

-I am no longer a die-hard passionate Indian Cricket fan. I’d rather support the West Indies (and yes my school mate Daren Ganga is vice captain now)

-0I enjoy driving my stick shift now. when I first got it..I was like what did i get myself into..but after about 8 months now..I drive it without being consious of the fact that I am driving a stick..Its fun also..

-If given a choice between my automatic nissan altima or my stick mazda 3..I’d keep the altima..I think I have more attachment to it since it was the first new car I ever bought..

(This post was sitting in my drafts folder since June 2005..I noticed this today and thought I’d publish it..)

So here am I sitting and wondering about hope. We all have hopes right? Wishing for things.
My question - Yes, we want certain things to go our way..certain things to happen..wishes that could come true…but at what point do you draw a line and stop hoping? At what point do you say that I don’t think its going to happen and don’t have any expectations….

So..after more than a year and half of waiting..I finally got to watch one of my favorite indian shows…The first couple of shows were really good. We have 2 new judges. Sonu Nigam and Farah Khan are not judging this year..but in their place comes my namesake - Mr Udit Narayan and the pop singer Alisha Chinoi. The hosts are also a little changed up. Instead of Aman (the freak), comes in Husein..who was the star of the dancing show Nach Baliye. Mini Mathur continues from the last season.

The judges - Early predictions.

Anu Malik is Anu Malik - very opinionated and since he is the only judge from the last season, he tends to hog the spotlight..almost wanting to run the show and not wanting the others to chip in . The first episode shows him arguing with the great lyricst Javed Akthar who was up to the challenge..(kinda nice to see!)

The format of the auditio rounds changed a little bit. The episodes showed mini travelling to various smaller cities and hand picking contestants to come to the metros to come and audtion before the judges. They showed her going to cities such as Amritsar and Jodhpur.

The contestants - Some really good ones..some really bad ones..some die hard fans of Alisha (there was this contestant who claims to be her fan since 1985..he came with a cake, teddy bear, flowers etc..almost made alisha cry..and even got her to sing him a song…very cute!)

Overall- this should be an exciting season. I miss Sonu’s presence..but Udit (feels weird typing my own name)….actually is very funny…his talking style is very unique..and I think he is going to bring his own unique spin to judging…

anyways, will keep everyone updated on how the shows goes!!!
